Photocert Wins Claims Technology of the Year at the Insurance Times Claims Excellence Awards 2026
Photocert is proud to announce that it has been named Claims Technology of the Year at the 2026 Insurance Times Claims Excellence Awards in London.
The award recognises technologies that are helping insurers modernise claims operations while addressing emerging risks. This year, the judging panel highlighted Photocert’s work in tackling one of the most significant challenges facing the industry: the rise of generative AI and deep fake-enabled fraud.
In their assessment, the judges stated:
“Photocert addressed the single biggest threat to digital claims today – the race against generative AI and deepfakes. In a year where deepfakes are a boardroom-level concern for insurers, Photocert provides a scalable protective layer for image evidence.”
The challenge is growing rapidly across the insurance industry as generative AI makes it easier than ever to create convincing fake or manipulated evidence. Reflecting this trend, Admiral reported detecting £86.8 million in fraudulent claims during 2025, a 71% increase compared to the previous year, with AI-generated and manipulated images and documents contributing to the rise.
The recognition follows a year of significant progress for the company, including its collaboration with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and IBM Research to advance next-generation generative AI detection capabilities for the insurance sector.
This latest achievement builds on Photocert’s recognition at the 2025 Insurance Times Tech & Innovation Awards, where the company received the Counter Fraud Innovation of the Year award, highlighting the continued impact of its technology across the insurance ecosystem.
